Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC Swiss machines, specifically the person-brand equipment, to produce medium
- to long-run medical parts.
Interpret and read blueprints to ensure all parts meet dimensional and quality specifications. Perform basic machine setups, including installing and adjusting tooling, setting offsets, and verifying programs prior to production. Run production jobs efficiently while monitoring part quality and making necessary adjustments to maintain consistent output. Perform tool changes and adjust tool offsets as needed to compensate for wear and maintain tight tolerances. Inspect parts during and after production using appropriate measuring tools and techniques to confirm compliance with specifications. Troubleshoot basic machining issues such as surface finish, dimensional variation, and chip control, and make appropriate corrections. Collaborate with team members in machining, setup, quality, finishing, and engineering to resolve issues and improve processes. Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with medical manufacturing standards. Follow all shop procedures, safety guidelines, and quality requirements to support a safe and compliant work environment. Essential Skills At least 2+ years of on-the-job experience running CNC Swiss machines. Hands-on experience operating the person-brand CNC Swiss machines, or comparable experience on other brands such as Citizen or Star. A minimum of 6+ months of experience performing basic setups on CNC Swiss machines, including tool changes and offsets. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints for precision machined components. Experience producing medical or similarly high-precision components on CNC equipment. Ability to perform tool changes, adjust offsets, and verify programs to maintain part quality. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining tight tolerances in a medical manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with other CNC Swiss brands such as Citizen, Star, or similar platforms. Experience in medical machining or experience in precision manufacturing environments. Interest in pursuing formal training or education in machining, including technical coursework or apprenticeship programs. Willingness to cross-train in related areas such as machine setup, quality, finishing, and exposure to programming and engineering. Previous experience in team-oriented machine shop environments. Familiarity with continuous improvement and process optimization in a production setting. Why Work Here? Employees typically work 12-hour shifts, with overtime paid after eight hours each day and additional shift differentials for second shift, weekend shift, and weekend night shift. The shop uses CNC Swiss machines, including the person-brand equipment, and supports cross-functional collaboration among machining, setup, quality, finishing, programming, and engineering teams. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Coon Rapids, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00
- $104000.00/yr. If someone is interested in returning to school for machining
- once someone has been employed for 6 months, after that company will reimburse up to $10,000 per year in tuition. Also
- once someone has been there 6 months, they can apply for the apprentice program. The apprentice program is up to 2 years long, they learn all the different aspects of the shop
- machining, machine setup, quality, finishing, and an exposure to programming and engineering.
At the end of 2 years, they can apply for the journeyman program, which essentially makes them one of the "experts" in the shop and would come with a higher pay grade.
