GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Machinist role is to manufacture parts with a high degree of skill and accuracy. Demonstrate skills of machining/fabricating/repairing any and all parts necessary for the successful completion of a manufacturing process of a product. They will be capable of using a variety of equipment depending on the needs of the department/value stream.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Operate machining equipment in the machining area such as lathes, horizontal mills, vertical mills, and surface grinders etc. to obtain desired results. 2. Be able to plan, layout, and perform all machining operations requiring particular skills, difficult setups, or machining methods. 3. Utilize speeds and feeds to maximize output and tool life. 4. Select the appropriate cutting tools for a given work piece. 5. Demonstrate organizational skills through task assignments. 6. Be able to set up a variety of parts using vices, magnets, angle plates, and other fixturing techniques. 7. Read and understand blueprints and follow process sheets. 8. Sharpen tools. 9. De-burr edges of parts and cleaning chips from holes. 10. Properly measure parts with the appropriate measuring tools. 11. Use the proper lifting tool and technique (e.g. hoist, scissor lift and magnets). 12. Participate in safety training. 13. Keep work area clean and orderly. 14. Perform other associated duties, functions, or work in a timely manner, as needed to continue the productive operation of the company. 15. Operate all equipment with a high degree of accuracy. 16. Operates a chain hoist, using eye bolts. 17. Mentor, share job knowledge, and guide newer associates to support the associates' development. 18. Find, read, understand, and follow work instructions associate with each specific job. 19. Supply own basic tools needed to perform the job. 20. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Candidate must have knowledge of a specialized field, however acquired, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school and specialized training having a machining certificate or associates degree with a minimum of 2 years related machining experience. We are ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) certified, therefore all applicants must be a U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
