CNC Mill Setup Machinist

R&S Machining, a Threadlock Precision Company, is seeking a skilled CNC Mill Setup Machinist with experience on Okuma machines to support our aerospace and defense manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for setting up CNC milling machines for production, ensuring precision, efficiency, and adherence to strict quality standards. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a high-precision environment. Responsibilities Set up CNC milling machines (Okuma preferred), including tooling, fixtures, and offsets Perform first-piece inspections to verify conformance to tight-tolerance specifications Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T Adjust programs, offsets, and tooling as needed to maintain quality and efficiency Collaborate with operators to ensure smooth and consistent production runs Troubleshoot setup and machining issues in real time Support continuous improvement efforts and setup optimization Maintain compliance with AS9100 and internal quality standards Qualifications 2-5 years of CNC setup experience (mills required) Experience with Okuma controls (OSP) strongly preferred Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T Experience holding tight tolerances in a production environment Aerospace or defense machining experience preferred Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented shop Why Join R&S Machining?
