Job Description

  • Job Title: Technician
  • Job Description
  • This role focuses on assembling, installing, and testing gaming machine systems across a designated area.

You will build machines from pre-made shells, integrate and mount internal components, verify proper software and hardware performance, and troubleshoot issues at both the shop and customer locations. The position combines hands-on mechanical work, independent field installations, and detailed testing procedures to ensure each gaming system operates reliably and safely.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Assemble gaming machines by installing components inside pre-made shells according to blueprints and schematics.

+ Mount and install logic boxes, printers, bill validators, and screens, including securing each unit with approximately 50 screws per machine.

+ Install screens using mounting methods similar to TV wall mounts, ensuring secure and accurate positioning.

+ Connect wire harnesses and verify that all pre-wired connections are correctly attached and functioning.

+ Test equipment and software to confirm that gaming machines perform as intended before deployment.

+ Troubleshoot screens, ticket printouts, and other system issues to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.

+ Use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during assembly, installation, and repair tasks.

+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to guide assembly and installation procedures.

+ Drive a box truck to transport units to customer locations for installation and service calls.

+ Operate a Tommy Gate to safely load and unload gaming machines and related equipment from the truck.

+ Perform on-site installations at bars, restaurants, casinos, and other customer venues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

+ Conduct on-site troubleshooting and repairs at customer locations when issues arise after installation.

+ Follow established test procedures and quality standards to ensure all machines meet performance and safety requirements.

+ Work independently or with one other team member to complete assembly, installation, and service tasks in a timely manner.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area in the shop and at customer sites, adhering to safety and operational guidelines.

  • Essential Skills
  • + Proven experience using hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly and installation work.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.

+ Mechanical aptitude with experience in assembly, installation, repair, and service of equipment or systems.

+ Competence in following test procedures to verify equipment and software performance.

+ Ability to troubleshoot screens, ticket printers, and related components to resolve operational issues.

+ Capability to drive a box truck for unit delivery and installation at customer locations.

+ Experience operating a Tommy Gate or similar liftgate systems for safe loading and unloading of equipment.

+ Valid driver's license required for performing independent installations and service visits.

+ Comfort working independently or in a small team setting with minimal supervision.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience working with gaming machines, kiosks, or similar electronic equipment is beneficial.

+ Background in shop or field service environments, particularly involving mechanical or electro-mechanical systems.

+ Familiarity with basic wiring and cable management for pre-wired harnesses.

+ Attention to detail when mounting components and securing hardware such as screws and brackets.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose issues systematically.

+ Good communication skills for interacting with customers during on-site installations and troubleshooting.

+ Reliability and punctuality to meet scheduled installation windows and shop hours.

+ Willingness to work occasional overtime depending on installation volume and location.

  • Work Environment
  • You primarily work in a climate-controlled shop condo within a brand-new building, where assembly and testing of gaming machines take place in a clean and organized setting.

The role also involves traveling to customer sites such as bars, restaurants, casinos, and similar venues to perform installations and troubleshooting. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the possibility of overtime depending on the number of machines and installation locations. Travel beyond a typical day trip is rare, and additional compensation is offered when overnight travel occurs. The work involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, box trucks, and a Tommy Gate lift system in both shop and field environments.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $23.

00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
