Direct Hire Our client is seeking a career-minded machinist with a strong quality focus and continuous improvement mindset. This role offers the opportunity to work with a wide variety of materials and custom projects while supporting daily production, machine setup, and precision manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes Program and edit machines using M-Code, G-Code, and conversational programming Perform machine setups and adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency Machine a variety of materials including stainless steel, aluminum, other metals, and plastics Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions Select tooling, fixtures, cutting tools, and machine accessories Verify dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring equipment Troubleshoot machining issues and make program or setup adjustments as needed Support prototype and custom manufacturing projects Build and modify fixtures for milling, drilling, and turning applications Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Programming teams to resolve manufacturing challenges Maintain quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology, Tool & Die Technology, or related technical field preferred Completion of a Machinist Apprenticeship Program is highly desirable 3-5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment Experience setting up and operating both CNC and conventional machining equipment Ability to program and edit using M-Code, G-Code, and conversational controls Strong blueprint reading and machining math skills Experience working in a quality-focused manufacturing environment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
