Job Description
CNC Lathe Machinist Tinker Manufacturing is a growing CNC machine shop supporting aerospace and defense customers across the U.S. We are looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team on a part-time basis, with the opportunity to move into a full-time role as workload continues to increase. What You'll Do
- Set up and operate CNC lathes, primarily Mazak equipment
- Run jobs utilizing live tooling and sub-spindle operations
- Select tooling, establish offsets, and optimize cycle times
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
- Troubleshoot tooling, machining, and quality issues
- Assist in developing efficient machining processes
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards
- Work independently while supporting overall shop production goals What We're Looking For
- 5+ years CNC lathe experience preferred
- Experience with Mazak controls strongly preferred
- Experience with live tooling and sub-spindle machining preferred
- Experience with Mazak Quick Turn lathes is highly desirable
- Ability to perform complete setups with minimal supervision
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Proficient with calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other inspection equipment
- Experience machining aerospace, defense, or tight-tolerance components is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Reliable attendance and positive attitude Pay and Schedule
- $24-$30/hour based on experience and capability
