Job Title Spring Set-Up Machinist - 1 Job Number 51-4081.00 Department Spring Reports to Supervisor/Lead Person Primary Position Objectives Works with direction setting up, adjusting and operating relatively complex machinery in the manufacture of a wide variety of parts conforming to accurate quality standards. Position Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Description of Duties Set-up Ensure operation of departmental machinery. Make minor repairs to machine tools. Remove old tool from machinery and replaces with new tool. Department Goals 100% on-time delivery 100% production run rate 100% attendance Zero past due Zero customer returns Levels Needs assistance Works alone Can train Lean Initiatives Observes company processes and makes recommendations for improvement. Participates in Lean Projects Other Maintains adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping standards. May be required to assist or otherwise instruct other personnel. Performs other duties as may be required. Attendance is an essential function of the job. Qualifications Education/Experience High School, Trade School graduate or demonstrated equivalent skills. Good math skills Ability to read blue prints Good mechanical skills Good communication skills Knowledge in the use of simple gauges (i.e. plug gauge) Physical Requirements Visual ability (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work. Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending. Ability to lift objects from lower to a higher position or moving horizontally from position-to-position.
