Job Title:
Machine Operator (Graveyard Shift) Job Description This role operates CNC and other production machinery on the graveyard shift to support efficient, safe, and accurate manufacturing. You set up, run, and monitor machines, load parts and materials, and perform quality checks to ensure production goals are met while maintaining high standards of safety and precision. Responsibilities Set up CNC and other production machinery by preparing, assembling, and calibrating machine components prior to production runs. Load raw materials and parts into machines and ensure correct placement for efficient and accurate operation. Start, run, and monitor machines throughout the shift to maintain optimal speed, performance, and production quality. Adjust machine settings and controls as needed to maintain specifications and resolve minor process issues. Conduct in-process and final quality checks on parts and finished products to verify they meet required standards and specifications. Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on machines to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Troubleshoot basic mechanical or operational issues and escalate more complex problems when necessary. Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment such as goggles, ear protection, and steel-toe boots. Maintain accurate production logs and documentation, including inputs, outputs, and maintenance activities. Work collaboratively with team members to meet or exceed daily and shift-based production targets. Keep the work area organized, clean, and free of hazards to support a safe and efficient production environment. Essential Skills Proven experience working in a manufacturing, factory, or machine shop environment. Hands-on experience with machine operation, including CNC machines and general production machinery. Mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of how machinery operates and the ability to perform minor repairs. Ability to read and understand blueprints, manuals, and technical instructions related to machine setup and operation. Strong attention to detail to identify quality issues and ensure parts meet specifications. Ability to stand for long periods, walk frequently, and lift materials up to approximately 40 pounds. Commitment to following safety procedures and using required protective equipment at all times. Reliable work habits and the ability to consistently support production goals on a graveyard shift schedule. Additional Skills & Qualifications Work history as a machinist or tool and die professional is highly beneficial. Previous experience in a machine shop environment operating CNC equipment. Experience performing routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting. Comfort working in a fast-paced production setting with defined quality and output targets. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing facility that uses CNC machines and other production equipment in a machine shop setting. The role requires standing and walking for most of the shift and handling materials that can weigh up to about 40 pounds. The environment can be noisy, and you must wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including goggles, ear protection, and steel-toe boots. Work is structured around production schedules and shift-based goals, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and maintaining an organized work area. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Las Vegas, NV. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
