Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manual Lathe Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate manual lathes to produce precision metal components according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications. Your expertise will ensure the highest quality standards are met while maintaining efficiency and safety in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical knowledge and craftsmanship to contribute to innovative manufacturing projects. Responsibilities Set up and operate manual lathe machines, ensuring precise cutting, shaping, and finishing of metal parts Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to produce accurate components Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions and tolerances Maintain and troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, and machine components to ensure optimal performance Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of hand tools, power tools, and personal protective equipment Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and support machining operations for plastics injection molding or other manufacturing needs Assist with basic maintenance of machines and report any issues promptly for repair or calibration Qualifications Proven experience operating manual lathes with a strong understanding of machining principles Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM programming fundamentals (SolidWorks, CNC programming) Knowledge of CNC lathe operation including Fanuc controls is a plus but not mandatory; familiarity with CNC milling machines is advantageous Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, tooling, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and setting up machining operations Understanding of manufacturing processes such as welding, assembly, and plastics injection molding is beneficial Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment while adhering to lean manufacturing principles Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts is preferred but not required Join our team to craft high-quality components through expert machining techniques! $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
