Machinist Juniper Industries, a leading 98-year-old New York Metal Fabrication Company specializing in pressure vessels and watertight/ballistic closures for ships, is seeking an experienced and motivated Conventional/manual machinist for manufacturing of precision metal parts.

Job Responsibilities:

Set up and operate Lathes, Mills, Surface Grinders, and other associated machines to produce precision mechanical parts

Job Duties:

Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping Set up and operate lathes, mills, drills and surface grinders using proper tooling Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages Document production output including time and material per job

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent (Machinist trade school a plus) Minimum 5 Years' proven experience as manual machinist Extensive experience in using lathes, mills, grinders etc. Ability to use precision tools such as micrometers, calipers and other gauges to take accurate measurements Knowledge of the properties of metal and other materials Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals Good at math with analytical abilities Use of appropriate PPE (Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Shoes, Gloves, Clothing As Directed) Excellent manual dexterity Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 50 pounds.
