Job Description

Summary:
Seeking a Toolmaker/Machinist to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools.
Requirements:
Completion of an apprenticeship (4 years) or completion of Machinist's Training, Tool and Die Certificate, or Advanced Manufacturing Certificate At least 4 years of on-the-job training Ability to provide, maintain, and obtain own tools Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Proficiency in basic algebra and geometry calculations Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Responsibilities:
Study specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions to determine materials required for the product Compute dimensions, plan layout, and determine assembly method sequence of operations Measure, mark, scribe metal stock for machining Build modify repair progressive dies Set up operate machine tools such as lathes milling machine shaper grinder verify conformance of machined parts specifications Verify dimensions alignments clearances Examine standard previously used dies tools jigs fixtures recommend design modifications construction function part Develop specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools draw sketch design product Comply with safety regulations maintain clean orderly work areas
Pay:
