Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prototype Machinist to join our team. This role is responsible for machining prototype parts to support product development, engineering, and production teams. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working from blueprints, CAD models, and sketches to create accurate and high-quality parts that meet tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities Program, set up and operate CNC milling machine to produce prototype components. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and verbal instructions to manufacture complex parts. Work closely with engineering and product development teams to refine designs and resolve manufacturability challenges. Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools. Ensure all work meets quality standards, tolerances, and deadlines. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company safety standards. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in machining preferred. 5+ years of machining experience, including prototype or R D work. Strong knowledge of manual machining and CNC machining (programming, setup and operation). Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD models. Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Proficient with precision measuring instruments and inspection practices. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment. Preferred Skills Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks). Knowledge of different materials (metals, plastics, composites) and their machining properties.
