Full Job Description Position Purpose:
The Machine Repair - Maintenance Department performs a variety of service functions. This would include but is not limited to: analyzing and correcting machinery and mechanical problems throughout the plant; repairing and overhauling equipment and machinery; troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery and building.
Key competencies include:
Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment/machinery and plans for and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality; Reviews schedule and when equipment/machinery is available, changes over equipment or performs scheduled maintenance; Tests equipment to check operation. Clears jams and makes adjustments necessary to run production. Tries out equipment after repairs; Services equipment/machinery by checking, testing and replacing faulty or broken components; Installs, repairs and maintains equipment/machinery including some electrical/electronic; Fabricates parts when necessary using machines and/or hand tools common to the trade; Determines need for analyses, and makes necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls; Advises and communicates regarding potentially dangerous equipment and machinery problems; Follows and ensures all lockout/tag-out procedures related to equipment, machines and other forms of energy are followed; Communicates potential equipment problems and dangers; Performs routine maintenance/cleaning duties in the department on equipment and area; Works in close association with Injection Molding and/or Finishing management staff; Performs other duties as assigned and directed.
