Press Operator - 2nd Shift - 24/hr Job Description Join our team as a Press Operator where you will work with 2-500 ton presses to produce automotive parts for major companies such as Toyota and Honda. You will be responsible for maintaining press operations, performing die and coil changes, and ensuring the quality of parts through regular checks. This role requires you to read and understand safety and standard operating procedures while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Responsibilities Operate and maintain 2-500 ton presses for automotive parts production. Use overhead cranes and train for forklift operation in the future. Conduct quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and gauges every 500 parts. Set up, operate, and perform preventative maintenance on presses. Perform die changes, coil changes, and other setup tasks. Ensure proper quality of parts using various measurement tools. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Adhere to safety and standard operating procedures. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the shift. Essential Skills Minimum 1 year of experience operating 2-500 ton presses. Experience with transfer or progressive die preferred. Experience in manufacturing or industrial settings. Ability to work overtime as required. Capability to wear PPE including steel toe shoes, hard hat, ear and eye protection. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating a 500 ton stamping press. Experience with progressive or transfer die operations. Why Work Here? We operate on multiple shifts, with 1st shift from 6:50am-3:10pm, 2nd shift from 2:50pm-11:10pm, and 3rd shift from 10:50pm-7:10am. Overtime may be required, especially during busy periods. The environment is typical of a manufacturing setting with older machinery, a loud atmosphere, and a smell of rubber. The workspace is well-lit, and uniforms will eventually be provided. We work in the automotive industry, producing a variety of parts including hoses and transmission components. Steel or composite toe shoes are required, and all necessary PPE will be provided on site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bluffton, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.02 - $24.02/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
