Job Description:
The Fabricator II is an experienced manufacturing role responsible for producing precision metal components and assemblies using CNC machining, welding metal forming/bending, and fixtures. This position works with minimal supervision, interprets engineering drawings, and ensures parts meet quality, safety, and production standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or related equipment) to fabricate metal parts Perform welding operations (MIG, TIG, or other applicable processes) according to specifications Bend and form metal using press brakes, rollers, or manual forming equipment Design, set up, and utilize fixtures and jigs to ensure repeatability and accuracy Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools Troubleshoot machining, welding, or forming issues and make necessary adjustments as needed Maintain equipment, tooling, and a clean, organized work area Follow safety procedures, quality standards, and lean manufacturing practices Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other fabricators to improve processes Required Skills & Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing Proficiency in CNC machine setup and operation Welding experience (MIG/TIG preferred) Experience with metal bending and forming equipment Strong blueprint and schematic reading skills Familiarity with fixtures, jigs, and precision setups Working knowledge of measuring and inspection tools Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Preferred Qualifications Technical certificate or apprenticeship in machining or fabrication Experience working with tight tolerances Basic understanding of G-code and CNC programming edits Experience with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50lbs Manual dexterity for operating machinery and tools Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, and metal dust
