Our fully equipped 200,000 SF facility along with a remote testing facility to better service our customers who frequently utilize Factory Acceptance Test (F.A.T.), that result in successful vertical start-ups. Job Overview:
The Manual Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating manual mills, lathes, and related equipment to produce precision metal and plastic components. This role requires strong blueprint reading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to hold tight tolerances in a fabrication or job shop environment
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation Set up and operate various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and saws. Adjust machine settings to ensure that all parts are produced to precise specifications. Monitor machines during operation to ensure optimal performance and quality output. Blueprint Interpretation Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Measure and mark raw materials to guide machining operations. Verify dimensions and tolerances of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Tooling and Maintenance Select, install, and change machine tooling as needed for different jobs. Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure proper functioning and prevent downtime. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machinery, making adjustments or repairs as necessary. Quality Control Inspect finished parts for accuracy, defects, and conformance to specifications. Document inspection results and maintain records of production runs. Collaborate with quality control teams to address any discrepancies or quality issues. Safety and Compliance Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area, complying with OSHA and company safety regulations. Report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (5 years of document experience may be substituted for education). Proven experience as a machinist in a manufacturing or production environment. Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work from blueprints and technical drawings. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Proficient with manual machining equipment
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Frequent use of hands for tools and controls Exposure to typical shop conditions (noise, metal shavings, coolant, etc.). •Pay based on verifiable years of experience and skill level.
