CNC Swiss Setup Machinist Company Description:
Northwestern Tools is a family-owned, growing manufacturing company founded in 1942. Northwestern Tools is a leading U. S. manufacturer and supplier of clamping and work-holding components, spring and ball plungers, fasteners, thread repair inserts, knobs and handles, hoist rings, and specialized tooling components.
Position Description:
The CNC Swiss Setup Machinist is responsible for the setup, operation and quality production of parts running on multiple Swiss lathes. The position will include setting and installing tooling for setups, correcting offsets, reading programs and inspecting parts following an inspection schedule.
Position Responsibilities:
Perform all activities necessary to setup CNC Swiss machines and prove out program to pass first-article inspection. Install and calibrate collets, guide bushings, tool holders and cutting tools Operate multiple CNC Swiss lathes Read and interpret manufacturing prints Learn and adhere to new processes Properly utilize calipers, micrometers, pins and optical devices to document inspection of finished parts. Document Quality, and write legible notes Troubleshoot machines Organization and housekeeping
Mandatory Skills:
Prior work with CNC Swiss machines Experience with Fanuc controls Able to work collaboratively and independently while troubleshooting and navigating a changing environment. Excellent verbal communication skills Comprehend and utilize general manufacturing knowledge Diverse metrology experience & Threading Concepts Tool change and offset setting experience. Must be authorized to work in the USA with no current or future sponsorship required
