Tool & Die Apprenticeship Turn Your CNC Experience Into a Skilled Trade Career Already have experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or other machining equipment and ready for something beyond another production job? Spherion Mid Ohio is recruiting experienced CNC Operators and machining candidates for an opportunity to build a long-term career in Tool & Die. You'll start by putting your existing CNC and machining skills to work inside a Tool & Die department. Successful candidates can move through a quick temp-to-hire process and into a paid Tool & Die Apprenticeship, combining hands-on training and classroom education toward becoming a certified Journeyman. This is not an entry-level production position. Previous CNC operation or relevant machining experience is required. What You'll Do Operate CNC and machining equipment within the Tool & Die department Work with lathes, mills, saws, and related machining equipment Load, position, and remove parts for machining Follow specifications and work instructions to produce accurate components Perform measurements and verify completed work for accuracy Use technical math throughout the machining process Monitor equipment and recognize machining or quality issues Maintain attention to tolerances, dimensions, and finished-part quality Learn additional Tool & Die processes through hands-on experience Work alongside experienced skilled-trades professionals while developing your machining knowledge Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures What We're Looking For Qualified candidates should have: Previous CNC machine operation or relevant machining experience Experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or similar equipment Strong mechanical aptitude Strong technical and shop-math skills Ability to accurately read measurements and specifications Attention to precision, quality, and detail Ability to recognize and communicate machining or equipment issues Dependable attendance and a strong work history Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed Genuine interest in developing a long-term career in Tool & Die Additional experience with blueprints, micrometers, calipers, machining setups, tooling, G-code, manual mills/lathes, or metal fabrication is highly desirable.
