Job Description

Title:
Machinist (Engine lathes, Turret lathes, Mills, Grinders)
Shift:
1st Shift, 6:00 AM - 2:30
PM Salary:
$29.97/hr
Machinist Role:
This position exists to set up, adjust, and safely operate conventional machine tools to fabricate precision industrial components. The Machinist ensures all manufactured parts meet strict quality tolerances to support our client's production workflow.
Machinist Responsibilities:
Set up, adjust, and operate engine lathes (25" to 40" swing), turret lathes, milling machines, drills, and tool grinders Review technical drawings, blueprints, instructions, or samples to ensure accurate production execution Take precise measurements for cutting, shaping, and forming materials Check work tolerances using precision measuring instruments to ensure strict quality assurance Document production variations and discard defective components as necessary Identify equipment maintenance needs and perform minor machine repairs Notify the Production Supervisor and safety coordinator of any safety concerns, accidents, or product damage Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area with proper tools
Machinist Reporting Relationships:
This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor and has no direct reports.
About You:
Possess demonstrated experience operating and maintaining industrial lathes, milling machines, and drills Hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent Demonstrate proven knowledge of reading and interpreting engineering drawings Exhibit proficiency in utilizing precision measuring instruments to verify strict tolerances Maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with internal customers and co-workers Commit to communicating facility or maintenance-related issues promptly to management Display a strong dedication to maintaining workspace safety and proper tool management
