Job Description
2nd Shift Machinist/CNC/Manual Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team in a dynamic job shop environment specializing in low-volume, high-mix production. Our facility is clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled, providing a comfortable and professional workspace. Come join the Minster Team! Machinist Job Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC Machines (Haas, Okuma, PAMA, etc.) Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate production Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments Make program edits and offsets as needed to maintain tight tolerances Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize setups for efficiency and quality Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and team members to meet production goals and deadlines Assist with preventative maintenance and basic machine upkeep Other duties as assigned Direct customer contact may be required at times. Qualifications 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a job shop or high-mix environment Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC machines, preferably Haas, Okuma, PAMA, etc. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and Technical drawings Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc) Solid understanding of machining processes, tooling, speeds, and feeds Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs or setups Commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred
