Job Title:
CNC Machinist Job Description This role focuses on CNC machining in a small, tight-knit machine shop that produces a variety of components. You will operate CNC mills and/or lathes in a production environment, performing offsets, tooling changes, and running ongoing work with minimal supervision. This position does not require programming experience but does require solid hands-on machining skills and the ability to maintain quality and efficiency. Responsibilities Operate CNC mills and lathes in a production environment to manufacture various components according to specifications. Set up CNC machines, including installing and adjusting tooling, fixtures, and workholding as required. Perform machine offsets and adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and part quality. Run ongoing production work, monitoring machines for proper operation and addressing issues proactively. Inspect parts during and after machining to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances. Work with light supervision, managing daily tasks and priorities to meet production schedules. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures in the manufacturing facility. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes where possible. Essential Skills Previous experience operating CNC mills and/or CNC lathes in a production environment. Hands-on CNC machining experience, including running ongoing work on mills and lathes. Ability to perform machine offsets and make adjustments to maintain part quality. Experience with tooling setup, including installing, changing, and verifying cutting tools. Ability to work effectively with only light supervision and manage daily responsibilities independently. Familiarity with Mazak CNC machines. Experience performing machine setups for CNC machining operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a small machine shop environment. Comfort working with various components and part types in a production setting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts. Ability to communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding machine or quality issues. Willingness to follow established processes and contribute to continuous improvement. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing facility within a small machine shop setting. You will work around CNC mills and lathes, including Mazak equipment, and handle regular setups, tooling, and production runs. The environment is hands-on and production-focused, with light supervision and close collaboration among a small team. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Duncan, OK. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
