$23.00 - $42.00/hr (DOE) General Position Summary Responsible for the production of precision components using advanced machining skills. This role requires an experienced machinist adept at operating multi-spindle mechanical manual screw machines, including ACME, Davenport, or Tornos. Must be a highly skilled, driven, and mechanically inclined individual. Essential Duties / Responsibilities 1. Set up and operate mechanical manual screw machines 2. Work from layout sheets, drawings, and specifications to set up jobs independently 3. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of tool selection, tool design, and troubleshooting specific to Davenport and Tornos screw machines 4. Understand machine attachments for various lathe operations such as threading, boring, and facing 5. Read blueprints, drawings, and job orders for dimensions, tolerances, and workpiece quantities, including GD&T 6. Adjust and change tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances 7. Verify conformance of production parts to specifications using various measuring instruments 8. Sharpen tools as required 9. Train operators on machine operation, loading, and running 10. Perform other duties as required Job-Specific Skills 1. Strong interpersonal and language skills for interacting with team members 2. Ability to produce quality products without sacrificing throughput (quantities per hour) 3. Ability to lay out new jobs and drive continual process improvements (preferred) 4. Strong mechanical ability and advanced machining skills Standard Requirements 1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Manufacturing Technology coursework a plus 3. 4 years of experience with screw machines as a setup machinist 4. 4 years of machining experience 5. Advanced experience with mills, lathes, and automated drill presses in a machine shop environment 6. Able to stand for long periods and is mechanically inclined 7. Able to communicate effectively and work independently within a team environment Apply Today!
