Job Description

Job Summary Position Summary The Machinist is responsible for supporting tooling performance, maintenance, and optimization within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures tooling meets quality specifications, supports production efficiency, and adheres to safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, troubleshooting ability, and a continuous improvement mindset. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity Inspect and measure tooling to verify conformance with specifications Validate specifications for new tooling and ensure readiness for production Reduce changeover time through process improvements and efficient setup practices Ensure compliance with ISO/TS 16949 and
ISO 14001
standards Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Identify and implement efficiency improvements to increase productivity and throughput Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts Diagnose tooling issues, including evaluating damaged components and determining repair or replacement needs Required Qualifications 3-5 years of changeover experience in a plastic injection molding environment Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills Proven troubleshooting ability in tooling and machining processes Experience operating: Cylindrical grinders Surface grinders Mills and lathes with tolerances up to ±0.0001" Working knowledge of electrical systems up to 440V, including use of a multimeter Understanding of pneumatic valve gate systems Knowledge of water circuits, including mold flow, turbulent flow, and the use of bubblers and baffles Experience repairing tooling, building fixtures, and creating knockout stakes and maintaining plastic injection molds. Preferred Qualifications CNC mill programming capability Experience with IQMS and Microsoft Office applications TIG welding skills Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and hydraulic cylinders
Compensation:
Negotiable - based on candidate's prior job knowledge, skills, and abilities.

From $28.00 per hour
