Job Description
Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and manual machining equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and GD&T specifications. Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, cutting speeds, and feeds for machining operations. Perform precision machining of tool steel, carbide, aluminum, and other materials. Measure and inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, indicators, and other inspection equipment. Make machine offsets and minor program adjustments as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy. Deburr, clean, and finish machined components. Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean work area. Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues to minimize downtime. Follow all plant safety procedures and quality standards. Maintain production records and inspection documentation. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred. 2+ years of CNC and/or manual machining experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, surface grinders, or EDM equipment preferred. Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments. Basic understanding of G-code and CNC controls preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good attendance and reliability required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity and attention to detail required. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machine noise, oils, and metal particles. Preferred Skills Experience with tight-tolerance machining. Familiarity with ISO or quality management systems. Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus. Ability to perform tool sharpening, repair, or fabrication. Work Environment Industrial manufacturing/tool shop environment. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all times.
