Precision CNC Machining Technologist Location:
New Kensington, PA Since 1968, Accurate Marking & Manufacturing (AM&M) has crafted precision components for Defense, Nuclear, Pump/Hydraulic, Robotics, and other demanding sectors. We deliver exceptional parts, service, and innovation—and we're growing our team with a seasoned machinist who thrives on accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement. A day in this role You'll arrive to a clean, organized shop and take ownership of turning complex prints into finished, high-quality parts. Your morning may start by reviewing engineered drawings and setup sheets, selecting tools, and dialing in work offsets. Midday, you'll program, operate, and edit CNC mills and lathes, running efficient setups and making the right adjustments to hold spec. Throughout the day, you'll inspect with micrometers, calipers, and gauges; deburr and finish parts; and collaborate with teammates to solve problems and improve processes. When a manual touch is the right move, you'll switch gears and apply traditional machining skills. As an experienced craftsperson, you'll also lend a hand to apprentices and help raise the bar for the whole team. Why AM&M Our people come first. Core responsibilities Program, operate, and edit CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components Set up equipment via detailed setup sheets and tool lists for efficient, repeatable runs Read and interpret blueprints, engineered drawings, and specifications Perform in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, and related gauges Deburr and finish parts to meet stringent quality standards Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area Apply manual machining techniques when appropriate Partner with teammates on troubleshooting and process improvements Mentor apprentices and share best practices Qualifications 6+ years of CNC machining experience (we will also consider strong manual backgrounds or motivated candidates with relevant formal training) Journeyman Papers Exceptional attention to detail and organization for tight-tolerance work Clear verbal communication and a collaborative mindset Proficient blueprint reading and use of inspection instruments High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications such as NIMS are a plus Commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced environment You should be proficient in CNC Programming CNC Machine Setup & Changeover Machine Setups for Production Runs Machines & technologies you will use CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) (Fanuc, Doosan) CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) (Doosan) CAM Software (Mastercam) CNC Lathe (5+ axis) (Doosan) Equal Opportunity All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status.
