This role involves working closely with our Davenport foreman to ensure precision and quality in manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, basic knowledge of machining tools, and the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in mechanical measurement and machining techniques within a professional manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Assist machinists in operating and setting up machining tools to produce components according to specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints to understand dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements. Perform precise measurements using dial calipers and micrometers, ensuring accuracy within.001 inches. Tend to a Davenport while it is set up and running, making sure parts are being produced within tolerance. Support quality control by verifying measurements and ensuring parts meet specified tolerances. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards at all times. Collaborate with foreman to troubleshoot issues and improve machining processes. Qualifications Basic understanding of machining tools and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Ability to use measuring instruments such as dial calipers and micrometers accurately within.001 inches. Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision measurement.
