About the
Role:
Elge Precision Machining is a precision machining shop located in Reading, Pa loooking for a motivated individual who is mechanically inclined to join our team. You will work directly alongside our lead foreman in the screw machine department learning how to run and maintain Davenport multi-spindle screw machines from a veteran with 30+ years of experience. This is a long-term growth position, as we eventually move more into CNC machining, you will have a clear path into our CNC machining operations- a skill set that is high demand and will serve your career for decades. We are hoping to grow significantly in the next few years and would like a dedicated individual to grow along side of us.
What We're Looking For:
Mechanically inclined: You enjoy figuring out how things work, whether it's a car engine, power tool or piece of equipment. A willingness to learn and to follow directions from an experienced foreman. A reliable and strong work ethic: show up on time, pay attention, take pride in your work Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, simple measurements) A genuine interest in machining as a career Vo-tech, trade school, hands on mechanical background is a plus (not a requirement)
Your Growth Path:
Year 1-2: Working side by side with foreman in the screw department. Learn Davenport operations, tooling fundamentals, print reading, quality inspection, dabbling in CNC operations as well. Year 2-3: More exposure to CNC equipment, program writing, machine set ups, tooling fundamentals, CNC maintenance, quality control procedures. Year 3+: Transition into a full CNC machining role with the skills and confidence to run modern equipment independently. •Wages are subject to experience level•
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
