Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines—including lathes and milling machines—to produce precision metal components. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code, and the ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings. Duties Set up CNC machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machining tools, ensuring proper calibration and tooling. Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, CAM software, and CNC programming techniques to produce precise parts according to specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately using CAD software such as SolidWorks and general blueprint reading skills. Operate manual machining tools when necessary to support production or prototype development. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and other measurement instruments to verify part dimensions. Perform quality inspections on machined parts utilizing GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure compliance with specifications. Maintain machine setup documentation, troubleshoot machine issues promptly, and perform routine maintenance to minimize downtime. Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling design, fixture setup, and process improvements to optimize manufacturing efficiency. Adhere strictly to safety protocols while handling power tools, hand tools, grinders, and other equipment essential for machining operations. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements based on operational observations. Qualifications Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role within a manufacturing environment; experience with CNC lathe and milling machines is essential. Proficiency in CNC G-code programming, M-code editing, and CAM software such as SolidWorks or equivalent CAD programs. Strong understanding of mechanical blueprint interpretation and the ability to translate drawings into precise machined parts. Knowledge of machining tools including grinders, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measurement instruments. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. Basic math skills for measurement calculations and process adjustments. Mechanical knowledge related to metal machining processes and tooling selection. Ability to read technical drawings accurately while applying GD&T principles for quality control.
