What You Will Do:
Perform machine setup and runs on surface grinders and mills Read, interpret and comprehend, process prints, engineering and quality standards, and other informational drawings and work instructions. Monitor tooling for wear and usage, changing and setting tools as needed. Monitor part specific dimensional tolerances while performing the operation & identify non-conforming part features Maintain accurate documentation and system inputs (shop traveler, labor charging, production tracking software, inspection results, etc.) Identify and report process inefficiencies, machine issues, and improvement opportunities Follow work priorities to accomplish production goals Can handle contact with coolants, cleaning fluids, and oils (petroleum based products) and chemical vapors from products during the normal manufacturing Obtain and maintain required Inspection Certification(s) Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned 2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
What You Will Learn:
Precision surface grinding and other CNC equipment operation as required Cross-functional collaboration through various types of manufacturing and processes. Gain experience with inspection equipment.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting decimals Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use multiple computer applications (including email, internet, and other job-specific applications). Experience with measurement equipment, i.e. gauges, calipers, etc. Experience with basic hand tools. Experience reading, interpreting, and following blueprints.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and grinders Experience maintaining tight tolerances (< 0.0005")
