Want to actually use your 5-axis skills again? A well-established precision manufacturer in Rhode Island is hiring an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and run complex, high-tolerance parts on 4 and 5-axis equipment. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their craft — not a button-pusher position. What You'll Do Set up and operate 4 and 5-axis CNC machines on complex, tight-tolerance work Read and interpret blueprints with GD&T (profile tolerancing a plus) Select tooling, set offsets, dial in feeds/speeds, and run first articles to spec Edit existing CNC programs and write basic programs as needed Inspect your own work — quality is owned, not handed off Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues What You Bring 5-10 years of hands-on CNC setup and operation experience Proven 4 and 5-axis capability MasterCam experience preferred Strong blueprint reading and GD&T fundamentals High school diploma or equivalent A pride-in-your-work mindset and the discipline to keep a clean, safe workstation Why This Role Direct hire with a stable, growing manufacturer Real variety in the work — complex parts, not production-line repetition Culture that actually values its machinists: integrity, teamwork, employee development, and the freedom to take smart risks in support of continuous improvement A team where success is celebrated and your input shapes how things get done Day shift, full benefits, competitive pay based on experience The Environment This is a shop where craftsmanship still matters.
