Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Plasma Table Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining plasma cutting machines to produce precise metal components. Your expertise will ensure high-quality fabrication while adhering to safety standards and production schedules. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery and contribute to innovative manufacturing processes in a dynamic environment. Must have experience working with Pronest CNC or Plasma Design Experience. Duties Set up and calibrate plasma cutting tables, ensuring proper alignment and tooling for each job. Operate CNC plasma tables efficiently to cut sheet metal and other materials according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure accurate fabrication. Program CNC plasma machines using CAD/CAM software to optimize cutting paths and improve productivity. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on plasma tables and related equipment to minimize downtime. Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and visual checks to verify dimensions and surface finishes meet specifications. Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, press brake machines, CNC lathes, milling machines, stamping presses, cranes, and other fabrication tools as needed for assembly or finishing tasks. Follow safety procedures diligently when operating machinery such as forklifts, cranes, or electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment. Maintain detailed records of production runs, inspections, maintenance activities, and safety checks for compliance purposes. Experience Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines, plasma tables, or similar CNC machining equipment in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in fabrication processes including welding, sheet metal work, tooling setup, and assembly. Skilled in blueprint reading with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. Knowledge of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality control. Experience with CNC programming using CAD/CAM software is highly desirable. Ability to use various hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments confidently. Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments. Familiarity with safety protocols related to forklift operation, crane handling, electrical discharge machining (EDM), stamping presses, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, welding techniques, and sheet metal fabrication.
