Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist and become a vital contributor to precision metalworking operations! In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC machines—including lathes and milling machines—to produce high-quality components that meet strict specifications. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will drive efficiency and excellence in our manufacturing processes. We are a small, family-owned machine shop with a laid back atmosphere committed to fostering a safe, innovative, and rewarding environment where your skills can shine and grow. Duties Operate CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring precise production of parts according to technical drawings and specifications. Set up machines by installing tooling, calibrating equipment, and preparing workpieces for machining operations. Program CNC machines utilizing G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to optimize machining processes. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools for quality control purposes. Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments to ensure optimal performance. Inspect finished parts for conformance to quality standards using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles and measurement instruments. Follow safety protocols diligently while handling manual tools, power tools, grinders, and machining tools to maintain a safe work environment. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming languages-mainly G-coding Strong knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks and general blueprint reading skills. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Experience operating various machining tools including lathes, mills, grinders, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is advantageous. Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machine setup parameters. Skilled in manual machining techniques as well as CNC programming and operation of CNC milling machines and CNC lathes—especially those controlled by Fanuc systems. Knowledge of measurement techniques for quality control using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and bore gauges. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret complex mechanical blueprints accurately for precise manufacturing. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency in production workflows. Capable of using hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, and assembly techniques safely and effectively. Embark on a career where your craftsmanship makes a tangible impact! We are dedicated to supporting your professional growth while ensuring you work in a positive environment that values safety, precision, and innovation.
