Job Description

Responsibilities Start machine to allow it to go through it start up/warm up procedure. Load computerized machine control media as needed. Selects, aligns, and secures chuck jaws, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machine. Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. Obtains and places work piece in machine and removes finished work piece from machine and places it in appropriate temporary storage location. Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications. Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media or replaces tools as required. Able to perform machine cleaning and minor maintenance and calls supervisor as needed for major maintenance and repair. Confers with supervisors, engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems. Is aware of and helps maintain a safe work area and conditions and makes the safety coordinator aware of any unsafe situations. Job Requirements Education and Training High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. Experience Must have a minimum of two years of experience in FANUC and Okuma controls. Able to operate different machines and operations within the department including setup and run complex products. Able to maintain high efficiency and low nonconformance. Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blue prints. Able to write routine reports and correspondence. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio and percent.
