The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision metal components according to detailed specifications. This role is vital in ensuring high-quality production standards, efficient machining processes, and adherence to safety protocols. The successful applicant will bring strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in CNC programming, and a commitment to manufacturing excellence. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC machining equipment, including lathes and milling machines, utilizing CNC G-code programming and Fanuc controls. Interpret complex blueprints and mechanical drawings accurately, applying GD&T principles for precise machining. Program CNC machines using CAM software and manual G-code adjustments to optimize manufacturing processes. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement instruments to verify dimensions. Perform machine setup, calibration, and tooling changes efficiently to meet production schedules. Conduct quality inspections during and after machining processes to ensure components meet strict tolerances and specifications. Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety standards; utilize hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other machining tools appropriately. Troubleshoot machining issues promptly by analyzing machine performance and adjusting parameters as needed. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements. Collaborate with engineering teams on prototype development, tooling design, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Experience Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role with a strong background in metal machining. Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls preferred. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models created in SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus. Familiarity with CAM programming software for toolpath generation. Strong mechanical knowledge including the use of machining tools, grinders, lathe operations, milling techniques, and manual machining skills. Experience with precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and bore gauges for quality control. Understanding of GD&T standards for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to measurements and machine setup adjustments. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining attention to detail.
