Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program a variety of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in interpreting technical drawings, setting up machinery, and ensuring optimal machine performance will be vital to our production success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced industrial equipment and contribute to high-quality manufacturing processes in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC machines including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC machining centers, ensuring accurate production runs. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing documents to determine machining specifications and tolerances. Program CNC equipment using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and adjust parameters for optimal performance. Conduct precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances. Utilize shop math skills for calculations related to material dimensions, tooling offsets, and machine settings. Troubleshoot industrial equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime, ensuring safety standards are maintained at all times. Operate auxiliary shop tools such as stamping presses, press brake machines, forklift trucks, hand tools, and welding equipment as needed for fabrication or assembly tasks. Maintain detailed records of production activities, quality checks, and machine maintenance logs in accordance with safety standards and quality control protocols. Follow safety procedures rigorously while handling materials, tooling, and machinery to promote a safe working environment. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with CAM programming is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation systems. Ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret complex technical drawings accurately. Skilled in the use of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks for design review or modifications. Experience operating various manufacturing equipment including stamping presses, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and fabrication tools. Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of shop math, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and precision measurement techniques. Familiarity with safety standards in production environments; capable of identifying hazards and implementing safe work practices. Warehouse experience including materials handling, packaging, tooling management, and inventory control is advantageous. Ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment issues quickly while maintaining quality standards. Strong communication skills for interpreting technical documentation and collaborating with team members on complex projects.
