American Thermowell is seeking a Manual Machinist to take on the task of sharing our local vision. Skills & Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as Micrometers and Vernier Calipers Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to used in preparation of machinery work Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled Adhere to all quality inspection procedures Keep work area clean Reading text and document use Oral communication Work well with others in a team environment Capable of decision making and critical thinking Job task planning, organizing, and multi-tasking Significant use of memory Finding information when required Adhere to American Thermowell's Quality Management System requirements Embrace continuous learning Qualifications Proven experience as Manual Machinist Strong communication skills Mechanical and mathematical aptitude String communication skills Attention to detail Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
