Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team for a day and a night shift position. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision-engineered components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential to ensure high-quality production standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining equipment and contribute to innovative manufacturing processes in a fast-paced climate controlled environment. There is a 15% shift differential for our night shift hourly pay, and also an eventual chance for moving to full time day shift (if chosen for the night shift position initially) . Your attention to detail, technical proficiency, and commitment to safety will drive success in this vital role. Duties Set up and operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, primarily using Mazak & Fanuc controls. Develop and modify CNC programs utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, G-Code, Mazatrol, and manual programming techniques to meet production specifications. Interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) symbols, and engineering specifications to accurately produce parts. Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, portable coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other tools to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met. Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection reports, and production logs for quality control purposes. Collaborate with manufacturing teams on tooling design improvements using SolidWorks, Edgecam, Mazatrol, or CAD software for optimized manufacturing processes. Follow lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve workflow, and enhance overall productivity. Ensure compliance with safety protocols by properly handling power tools, welding equipment when necessary, and operating forklifts for material movement. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with Mazak and Fanuc controls or similar systems. Proficiency in blueprint reading along with GD&T principles for precise manufacturing. Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining processes, tooling setups, and precision measurement instruments like calipers and micrometers. Familiarity with welding techniques, and assembly procedures is a plus. Ability to interpret technical drawings . Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine offsets accurately. Experience working in manufacturing environments that emphasize lean principles for continuous improvement. Valid certification or training in safety procedures related to power tools, hand tools, forklift operation, or welding is preferred but not required.
