Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, technical drawings, and measurement techniques to ensure high-quality production standards. The ideal applicant will demonstrate proficiency in CNC programming, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and the use of various machining tools to support our commitment to manufacturing excellence. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining requirements. Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM software such as Fanuc controllers, ensuring precise tool paths. Set up CNC lathes and milling machines, including selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job. Operate CNC equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to established safety protocols. Perform machine calibration, tool changes, and adjustments during production runs to maintain accuracy. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement instruments for quality control. Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications through CNC quality inspection techniques. Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, setups, and inspection results. Troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimize downtime and optimize productivity. Support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing practices and process optimization. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controllers is preferred. Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and CAD/CAM files created in SolidWorks or similar software. Knowledge of machining tools such as grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling setups. Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of metal machining processes including milling, turning on lathe machines, grinding, and manual machining techniques. Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, bore gauges, and dial indicators for precision measurement. Experience with CNC setup procedures for both lathe and milling machines; ability to perform machine calibration accurately. Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles for quality assurance. Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining dimensions and tolerances. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles aimed at reducing waste and improving efficiency. Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately and translate them into precise machine setups. Mechanical knowledge combined with problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively. This position offers an engaging environment where craftsmanship meets innovation.
