Manual Machinist Industrial Equipment & Service Pasadena, TX Job Details Temporary | Part-time | Full-time | Contract $20 - $30 an hour 20 hours ago Qualifications Teamwork Forklift Materials handling Manufacturing Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating various machining equipment. This role is essential for producing high-quality components that meet precise specifications and standards. The Manual Machinist will work closely with engineers and other team members to ensure efficient production processes and maintain high levels of safety and quality. Duties Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines to produce precision parts. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to determine machining requirements. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure accuracy of machined components. Perform CNC programming, including CAM programming for complex parts. Apply GD&T principles to ensure compliance with design specifications. Conduct electrical discharge machining when necessary for specific applications. Maintain tooling and hand tools, ensuring they are in good working condition. Collaborate with the assembly team to integrate machined components into larger systems. Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste in the production process. Operate forklifts safely for material handling as needed. Skills Proficient in manual machining techniques with a strong understanding of CNC operations. Familiarity with SolidWorks, CAD software, and CAM programming tools. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing processes. Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and conversions. Experience with plastics injection molding is a plus. Knowledge of welding techniques may be beneficial for certain projects. Competence in using power tools and hand tools effectively. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high-quality standards in all work produced. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
