Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist 2 for first shift lathe and second shift with strong CNC mill experience. This role is responsible for operating CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate precision parts in accordance with engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will be able to independently set up jobs, make offsets, read blueprints, and ensure high-quality production with minimal supervision.
Immediate opening:
First Shift, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Second Shift, 2:00PM to 10:30
PM Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC lathe machines with minimal assistance, adjusting controls to regulate speeds, feeds, coolant flow, depth of cut, and tooling offsets. Load and edit CNC lathe programs as needed to ensure efficient and accurate production. Establish and verify work offsets using precision tools such as dial indicators, edge finders, and probes. Independently machine parts to meet engineering specifications and quality standards. Read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings, including working knowledge of GD&T. Follow setup sheets and process instructions with minimal supervision. Select and apply appropriate lathe tooling, inserts, and cutting parameters for optimal performance. Monitor lathe operations to identify out-of-tolerance conditions, tool wear, or machine malfunctions, and notify the lead person as needed. Perform thorough first-piece and in-process inspections on mid to high complexity turned parts. Verify finished components using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and thread gauges. Identify machine deviation versus tooling or workholding issues and communicate findings to supervision. Consistently meet job standard times and maintain accurate part counts and data entry. Complete and maintain all required production and quality documentation accurately. Follow all company safety policies and properly use required PPE and machine safeguards. Troubleshoot routine lathe machining issues independently and demonstrate developing advanced problem-solving skills. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Strong mechanical ability Ability to accomplish tasks and follow directions without deviation from procedures. Requires a high school diploma/GED or graduation from certified technical school, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience. Must be highly motivated and able to work independently. Machinist 2 - Minimum 3 years of related experience desired. Must have working command of the English language, and be able to communicate orally and in writing (basic oral instructions, simple written memos and instructions). Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use basic hand held measuring tools.
Working Conditions:

The work environment of this position is generally performed in an indoor environment in a well lit and ventilated area. This position is required to work around high-speed machinery and equipment and requires the use of safety glasses. Candidates must stand for much of the workday. This position may require overtime and shift changes. There is exposure to machine oil, metal filings, unpleasant odors and noise. Job functions on and around mechanized equipment will present the need for alertness, accuracy and safety awareness. Specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required for accident prevention.

Candidates must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Work activities involve combinations of walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, lifting and carrying and standing for extended periods. Work requires the ability to see, hear and smell in order to detect problems. The work requires the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
