OVERVIEW

 : BAE Needs YOU! Work is scheduled for over a year! We are seeking a dedicated Outside Machinist with preferably at least 5 years of machining experience. The candidate will install vessel machinery using blueprints and hand tools, with knowledge of some aspects of air controls and tubing bending.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 5 years of marine experience in a shipyard setting Good working knowledge of system start-up procedures, propulsion system alignment, and machinery plants Knowledge of how to use necessary tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, heavy jacks, chain falls, torch, etc.) Some experience or background in welding Diesel experience is a plus SKILLS Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings Strong understanding of marine construction techniques and best practices Ability to use precision tools and equipment effectively Familiarity with commercial and military specifications and standards Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently or as part of a team Effective communication skills to collaborate with other team members and departments

RESPONSIBILITIES

Install vessel machinery through the use of blueprints and hand tools Read and interpret standard construction drawings, specifications, and other technical publications Apply knowledge of system start-up procedures, propulsion system alignment, and machinery plants Familiarize with all aspects of craft-specific marine construction from design through installation and operational testing Perform tasks related to air controls and tubing bending Conduct operational testing of installed systems IND1
