Hourly Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled CNC Machinist with experience in machining precision components and performing complex operations such as line boring, flange facing, and milling. This role involves working on a wide variety of industrial parts for sectors like paper mills, aerospace, food manufacturing, and heavy equipment repair. You will operate CNC and manual machines to manufacture and restore critical components with high accuracy and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC and manual lathes, mills, and boring machines to machine precision components. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical instructions. Perform machining work including but not limited to: Line boring and milling Pump base manufacturing and split line machining Facing plates, flange facing, and keyway cutting Trunnions, wicket gate bores, and valve seat machining Journals, shafts, and compressor crankcases Cylinder liners, piston rods, and gearboxes Rolls (paper & steel) and printing press parts Machinery sole plates, steam path restoration parts Aircraft and food manufacturing equipment Maintain strict dimensional tolerances and high-quality surface finishes. Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators. Edit G-code programs and optimize machining strategies for productivity and accuracy. Maintain machine cleanliness, tool condition, and adherence to safety and quality protocols.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or apprenticeship in machining is a plus. Experience in CNC machining and manual machining. Proficient in G-code programming and setup of CNC lathes, mills, and boring machines. Solid understanding of precision machining and repair techniques, especially for large, heavy, or complex parts. Ability to inspect and verify tight tolerances on critical dimensions and finishes. Comfortable working with both new part manufacturing and repair/restoration work. Familiarity with large-part handling, overhead cranes, and shop safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with large vertical and horizontal mills or boring mills. Skilled in operating legacy and modern CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, etc.). Experience in job-shop, industrial service, or heavy equipment repair environments. Ability to work from customer specifications, verbal instructions, or reverse-engineered parts.

In person Machine Operators Operate presses, CNC machines, mills, lathes, or other production equipment. Risk of injury due to moving parts, pinch points, and high temperatures. Requires constant attention to prevent serious accidents. Move heavy or hazardous materials through production areas. Work near other workers and tight aisles; require visibility and precision. Use open flame or electrical arc processes (welding, cutting, grinding); risk of burns, sparks, or fume exposure. Must maintain awareness and PPE compliance at all times.
