In this role, you will operate and set up Mazak CNC machinery to produce precision metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Knowledge in machining processes, precision measurement, and machine programming are essential. A machinist position at BEST offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to low volume, high mix array of complex manufacturing projects in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Mazak CNC machining equipment, opportunities available on both CNC lathes and milling machines. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings. Program using Mazatrol conversational. Perform in process precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement tools to verify part dimensions and quality Conduct machine calibrations, tool changes, and adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and adherence to specifications Maintain a clean and safe work environment and basic maintenance by following safety protocols related to machine operation, tooling handling, and material storage Requirements Proven experience operating CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathe and CNC milling machines in a manufacturing setting Strong knowledge of CNC programming Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining tools, tooling setups, manual machining techniques, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and basic math skills Familiarity with measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc. Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and GD&T for precision manufacturing Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills Mechanical knowledge of metalworking processes including milling, turning on lathes Ability to work M-F - 1st shift, be able to lift 50lbs and be on your feet for your shift If you're qualified, consider joining our team as a CNC Machinist in a climate controlled modern machine shop.
