Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Laser Turret Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating, setting up, and maintaining laser turret machines used for precision metal fabrication. The Laser Turret Operator will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, programming CNC laser cutting machines, and ensuring high-quality output while adhering to strict safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in machine operation, and experience with various fabrication tools and measurement instruments. Duties Operate laser turret machines, including CNC laser cutting systems, ensuring precise execution of production orders. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to set up machine parameters. Program CNC laser cutters and other related machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, and press brake machines. Perform machine setup, calibration, and routine maintenance to optimize performance and prevent downtime. Utilize measuring instruments and precision measurement tools for quality control inspections throughout the manufacturing process. Follow safety protocols diligently, maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with industry standards. Conduct quality inspections on finished parts using shop math and measurement techniques to ensure specifications are met. Assist with metal fabrication tasks including sheet metal forming, welding, and use of hand tools as needed. Troubleshoot machine issues promptly and collaborate with maintenance teams for repairs. Maintain detailed records of production activities, machine settings, and quality checks for documentation purposes. Experience Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment or similar machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, or stamping presses. Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of machining tools, forming machines, welding techniques, and metal fabrication processes. Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings and mechanical blueprints accurately. Competence in shop math, basic math skills necessary for measurement and quality control tasks. Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments and adherence to safety protocols during machine operation. Experience with CNC programming or G-code editing is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production setting while maintaining high standards of precision and safety.
