Job Description

Job Title:
Machine Builder Job Description The Machine Builder is responsible for assembling fully customized and highly complex filling solutions/machines according to engineering specifications. This role involves taking the machine from start to finish, beginning with mechanical assembly, troubleshooting alongside engineering, fabricating solutions as needed, and handling commissioning and running the FAT. Regular interaction with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams as well as Project Management is required. Occasionally, travel to customer facilities may be necessary to support the field service team. Responsibilities Assemble fully customized and highly complex filling solutions/machines, including dual, combined, 3-A machines, and rotary fillers according to engineering specifications. Assemble sub-assemblies as needed. Follow detailed engineering assembly prints/guidelines to assemble/sub-assemble machines using hand and/or power tools. Torque bolts according to engineering guidelines. Inspect finished goods to ensure they meet customer and company requirements. Inspect, test, and adjust completed machines to ensure units meet critical specifications and customer order requirements. Notify Engineering of Bills of Material errors. Create NCR's/ECR's to notify Quality and Engineering Departments of any issues. Complete assembly mechanical checkouts before releasing to the Service Department. Aid service technicians with FATs and Post FAT requirements. Operate forklift and scissors lift as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Aid crating with the disassembly of larger machines. Perform other projects as directed by management. Observe all safety rules, applicable regulations, and company standards. Report unsafe conditions and needed repairs to the production supervisor. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Meet with customers and run meetings as necessary. Essential Skills Proficiency with blueprint reading, machine building, mechanical assembly, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with electrical assembly, power tools, and soldering. Proficient in using hand and power tools. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to evaluate the relationship of parts to the whole system. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and standards. Demonstrated ability to detect problems and work independently with attention to detail. Strong mathematical skills, including metric system conversions. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and understand engineering specifications, assembly plans, and manufacturing instructions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with complex rigging of large equipment. Proficiency with calipers and other measuring equipment. Work Environment Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The role involves 20% travel. The work environment is a clean manufacturing facility with moderate to high noise levels, where safety equipment such as safety glasses, safety toe work shoes, and hearing protection are required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sturtevant, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.50 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
