Job Description

Install, service, adjust, clean, and repair coin, vending, or amusement machines including video games, juke boxes, dart boards, pool tables, cranes, and gaming machines. Under general supervision, the Amusement Route Helper is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of customer equipment. The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Monitors all games and token machines to ensure that they are operable.
  • Performs minor maintenance, including wiping game tops and sides, checking coin mechanisms, stocking redemption tickets, rearranging, straightening and leveling game machines.
  • Assist guests with inquiries, supports guests by helping them understand how a game is played, problem solving and maintains good guest relations at all times.
  • Maintains tools and keys at the discretion of the supervisor.
  • Service customer equipment according to a prescribed maintenance schedule. Cleans and maintains equipment.
  • Receives customer requests for service and handles them in a professional manner.
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems from the point of power connection to the inner workings of the equipment.
  • Processes paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Cleans vehicles and maintains them keeping complete and accurate log books.
  • Maintains acceptable level of cleanliness and organization in immediate and surrounding work areas.
Adjust machine pressure gauges and thermostats. Collect coins and bills from machines, prepare invoices, and settle accounts with concessionaires. Adjust and repair coin, vending, or amusement machines and meters and replace defective mechanical and electrical parts, using hand tools, soldering irons, and diagrams. Transport machines to installation sites. Test machines to determine proper functioning. Replace malfunctioning parts, such as worn magnetic heads on automatic teller machine (ATM) card readers. Refer to manuals and wiring diagrams to gather information needed to repair machines. Record transaction information on forms or logs, and notify designated personnel of discrepancies. Prepare repair cost estimates. Order parts needed for machine repairs. Make service calls to maintain and repair machines. Maintain records of machine maintenance and repair. Keep records of merchandise distributed and money collected. Inspect machines and meters to determine causes of malfunctions and fix minor problems such as jammed bills or stuck products. Fill machines with products, ingredients, money, and other supplies. Disassemble and assemble machines, according to specifications and using hand and power tools. Contact other repair personnel or make arrangements for the removal of machines in cases where major repairs are required. Clean and oil machine parts.
