Pay:
$25-$35/hr (Based on experience) The Machinist I sets up, adjusts, and operates a variety of CNC machine tools to perform progressive machining operations on close-tolerance parts requiring a high degree of precision and technical skill.
Job Description:
Set up and operate CNC boring bars, CNC boring mills, large CNC milling and turning machines, CNC grinders, and special-purpose CNC machines Study blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine setup, sequence, dimensions, and tolerances Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions using precision measuring instruments Dry run, debug, and edit CNC programs at the machine under supervision Select, align, and secure fixtures, tools, and materials Set and adjust machining controls (speed, feed, coolant flow, depth of cut) Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions Verify finished parts meet specifications Grind and modify tooling for specialized requirements Diagnose tooling and machine issues under supervision
