Chemical Packager

Sirius Staffing is seeking Entry-Level Chemical Packagers for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Axis, AL. Job Summary The Chemical Packager is responsible for safely preparing, filling, and packaging chemical products in a high-volume production environment. This role requires strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards while supporting continuous production operation. This role operates within a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment focused on the safe packaging of chemical products. Safety & Compliance Requirements (Mandatory) Clean-shaven policy for respirator use Participation in monthly blood draw program Strict adherence to PPE requirements (provided and required at all times) Zero tolerance for cell phone use on the production floor Zero tolerance for smoking, tobacco, or vaping on-site Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality Responsibilities Prepare, fill, and package chemical products (bags and boxes up to 65 lbs.) in an assembly-line environment with multiple workstations. Follow written work orders and verbal instructions from supervisors and team leads. Inspect materials, equipment, and finished products to ensure quality and compliance. Accurately complete required documentation and maintain legible records. Maintain proper stacking patterns and ensure accurate product weighing. Clean, prep, and maintain packaging equipment and work areas. Identify and report safety concerns, equipment issues, or production needs. Perform general housekeeping and assist with additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred. Ability to use hand tools (drills, impacts, knives, scrapers). Strong communication and critical thinking skills. Positive attitude and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment Schedule & Requirements Must be able to work rotating 8-hour shifts (days and nights), including weekends and holidays. Must be able to stand for long periods and work on feet throughout the shift. Must be able to lift and move up to 65 lbs regularly. Must be able to work in a team environment (approximately 13-14 employees per shift). Must be dependable with strong attendance and punctuality. Work Environment This position is based in a four-story production facility where work is performed across multiple levels, with most operations occurring on the first floor. The environment is fast-paced with high foot traffic, forklift activity, and moving equipment. Employees will work in a non-climate-controlled facility, with exposure to varying temperatures, fumes, airborne particles, loud noise, and moving mechanical parts. PPE is required at all times and includes FRC clothing, steel-toe boots, nitrile gloves, Tyvek suits, and respirators.
