Job Description
Primary Responsibilities Receive incoming material and verify quantities against packing slips and purchase orders. Inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies and report issues promptly. Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment. Stage material for fabrication, production, and shipping. Prepare outgoing shipments, including proper packaging, labeling, and documentation. Maintain accurate material identification and traceability throughout the shop. Assist with inventory counts and keep material storage areas organized. Work closely with purchasing, production, and project management to ensure materials are available when needed. Perform general shop support duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred. Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes required. Ability to safely handle steel plate, structural steel, pipe, and other heavy materials. Ability to read shipping documents, packing slips, and material tags. Basic computer skills are a plus. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work around heavy equipment throughout the workday. Safety Expectations Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Operate forklifts, cranes, and rigging equipment safely and responsibly. Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or near misses immediately. Maintain a clean and organized work area through good housekeeping practices
