Understands and follows quality and customer standards.
Ability to set-up and operate machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form, paint, and/or package quality finished or semi-finished parts.
Ability to operate computerized equipment and machine controls.
Ability to use quality measurement devices such as tape measure, calipers, micrometers.
Ability to use handheld metal working, packaging or banding tools.
Ability to operate material handling equipment such as overhead crane, forklift or combi lift.
Performs routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation.
Marks part numbers, order numbers, and the number of pieces on parts. Attaches identification tags as required for customer to have the ability locate correct parts.
Interprets blueprints, specifications, and other technical data to select the correct raw material or semi-finished parts.
Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area.
May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader.
QualificationsMust be at least eighteen (18) years of ageHigh school diploma or GED requiredA combination of education and experience may be qualifyingKnowledge of a manufacturing environment.
Experience using handheld metalworking tools, a plusUnderstanding of lean manufacturing principles, a plusMust have good computer and communication skillsMust be able to become certified to operate a forklift vehicle and overhead craneTo perform satisfactorily in this position, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. SCOPE OF
ROLEThe Machine Operator I is responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. They must have thorough knowledge of production techniques and the ability to produce quality-building parts.KEY OBJECTIVES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESUnderstands and follows safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environment by actively participating in a culture of safety.Understands and follows quality and customer standards.

RESPONSIBILITIESNo supervisory responsibilities are associated with this positionPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting Capacity- ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, bending, etc.
- Moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non-climate-controlled environment.
- Noise levels may be high at times.
